Cyberappéciation, une nouvelle campagne qui vise à contrer l’intimidation sur Internet, a été lancée dans le cadre de la Semaine contre l’intimidation et la violence à l’école. La Fondation Jasmin Roy, ENSEMBLE pour le respect de la diversité, l’institut Pacifique, Tel-jeunes et le ministère de l’Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport ont uni leur voix et leurs ressources pour donner vie à ce projet original qui cible les jeunes internautes.

«Contrairement à ce que les gens pensent, l’intimidation sur les réseaux sociaux est un phénomène qui est en pleine croissance et qui évolue très rapidement, explique le président de la Fondation, Jasmin Roy. Environ 70 % des adolescents affirment avoir été intimidés sur Internet et 90 % connaissent leurs agresseurs. »

Le projet présenté sous forme de capsules sur le populaire site Internet YouTube vise à sensibiliser les élèves fréquentant les établissements d’enseignement primaire et secondaire du Québec à l’utilisation responsable d’Internet et des médias sociaux.

« Il est faux de penser que parce que ça arrive sur Internet il s’agit d’événements isolés et anonymes, soutient le président. Il faut qu’on se penche sur ce sujet et qu’on sensibilise non seulement les enfants, mais aussi les parents et les enseignants qui peuvent être pris au dépourvu avec ce genre de situation. »

Plusieurs artistes connus des jeunes ont participé à la création des capsules. Chéli Sauvé-Castonguay, animatrice à Musique Plus, et l’acteur Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge sont les protagonistes des capsules diffusées sur le Web.

« Les artistes sont conscients de ce qui se passe dans les écoles. Ils ont souvent des enfants et ils sont préoccupés par ce qui arrive en ce moment. Ça n’a pas été difficile de les convaincre de participer à notre campagne », confie Jasmin Roy.

Ce dernier indique qu’il existe plusieurs façons de prévenir la cyberintimidation. « Premièrement, il est important de rappeler aux parents que les enfants en bas de 13 ans ne devraient pas être présents sur les réseaux sociaux. Il faut également surveiller l’activité de ses enfants sur les différentes plateformes qu’ils utilisent, soit l’ordinateur, les tablettes ou les téléphones intelligents. »

Branché sur le positif

Le site web « Branché sur le positif » a été également mis à la disposition des écoles. Ce site comporte des outils d’animation accessibles et concrets. Une plateforme de clavardage sera mise à la disposition des écoles dans le but d’éduquer positivement les jeunes par rapport aux comportements positifs sur Internet.

En complément, Tel-jeunes offrira aux adolescents des ateliers de formation et de sensibilisation à la cyberintimidation ainsi qu’aux services  d’intervention (messages texte, clavardage, téléphone, courriel) tant pour les jeunes que pour les parents, et ce, dans toute la province.

La Fondation Jasmin Roy

La Fondation Jasmin Roy a pour mission de lutter contre la discrimination, l'intimidation et la violence faite aux enfants au primaire et au secondaire.

Le but de la fondation est d'assurer un milieu sain et sécuritaire pour les élèves en soutenant et organisant diverses initiatives visant une meilleure intervention auprès des victimes et des intimidateurs.
